4KIDS ENTERTAINMENT TEAMS WITH SUBWAY™ RESTAURANTS

Seven-Week Yu-Gi-Oh! KIDS’ PAK Promotion Kicks Off on November 14, 2005 At More Than 20,000 SUBWAY Restaurants

New York, N.Y. (November 10, 2005) – 4Kids Entertainment, Inc. a global provider of children’s entertainment and merchandise licensing, has partnered with the SUBWAY™ restaurant chain to launch a national promotion featuring the popular Yu-Gi-Oh! entertainment franchise.

The seven-week Yu-Gi-Oh! Kids’ Pak promotion starts November 14, 2005 at more than 20,000 SUBWAY restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. The promotion features an exclusive Yu-Gi-Oh! action toy premium with each purchase of a Kids’ Pak meal, while supplies last. The Yu-Gi-Oh! premium toys made available through this promotion include:

  • Dueler’s Prop Disc
  • Yugi Battle Ball
  • Yugi Copter
  • Mai Glider

“Yu-Gi-Oh! continues its reign as one of the most successful franchises among kids,” said Alfred R. Kahn, Chairman and CEO of 4Kids Entertainment. “We’re pleased to team with SUBWAY restaurants and bring this popular brand to their patrons. Our partnership with SUBWAY restaurants brings together fun entertainment for kids while incorporating the importance of nutrition and eating healthy.”

This newest Kids’ Pak promotion continues SUBWAY restaurant’s commitment to healthy living by offering dietary information on the backside of all paperboard pieces used in the campaign. Each package will feature information for kids detailing proper nutrition and exercise according to the new food guide pyramid. Recommended daily servings from each food group and the proper amount of daily exercise are presented in an easy to read format for children.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! Kids’ Pak promotion will be supported through extensive online, inrestaurant and packaging components. Both 4Kids Entertainment and SUBWAY restaurants will cross promote through their respective www.Yugioh.com and www.subwaykids.com websites. In-restaurant signage will include a toy merchandise unit display and sandwich unit static cling. In-pack inserts will promote the new Yu-Gi-Oh! GX television series and Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game, with an online game demo.

The action-packed Yu-Gi-Oh! Kids’ Pak promotion comes on the heels of 4Kids Entertainment’s recent launch of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, the next chapter of the successful Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. The October debut of GX on Cartoon Network’s popular Miguzi block registered among the top rankings for boys 6-14. This success bolsters the franchise and the power of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series, which is now in its fifth season on Kids’WB! and consistently ranks as one of the most watched animated shows on television.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! Kids’ Pak promotion ends January 1, 2006.
