The Yu-gi-oh! World Championship 2024 Will Be Held in the USA

The world’s best Duelists will converge in Seattle on 7-8th of September

Calling all Yu-Gi-Oh! fans and Duelists – get ready to experience the ultimate showdown as Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. (KONAMI) announces the return of the highly anticipated Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2024 (WCS) to the USA for the first time since 2016. This prestigious event will take place in Seattle, Washington on 7-8 September 2024, welcoming challengers from all corners of the world for two days of thrilling and unforgettable Dueling action.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2024 is the pinnacle of competitive play in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG), and this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever before. For the first time in the history of WCS, there will be four separate tournaments featuring the most popular Yu-Gi-Oh! game formats. These categories include TCG, MASTER DUEL, and two different formats for DUEL LINKS – one for the SPEED DUEL format, and an additional one for the newly introduced RUSH DUEL format.

The inclusion of the RUSH DUEL format, which was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS game in September 2023, is a testament to the ever-growing popularity of this fast-paced and exciting gameplay style. This bold move by KONAMI to feature two distinct formats for DUEL LINKS opens up more opportunities for Duelists to showcase their skills and compete on the world stage.

But the journey to the Yu-Gi-Oh! WCS 2024 will not be an easy one. To qualify for this epic international event, Duelists will first have to prove themselves in their respective regions at the World Championship Qualifier (WCQ) tournaments. The WCQ tournaments will take place in the Americas, Europe, and Oceania, where the best of the best will go head-to-head for a chance to earn a spot at the coveted Yu-Gi-Oh! WCS 2024. These tournaments will serve as the ultimate test of skill and strategy, with only the top players advancing to represent their region at the grand event in Seattle.

For the TCG category, the World Championship Qualifier (WCQ) tournaments in the Americas, Europe, and Oceania will determine who will have the honor of challenging for the title of Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Champion at the Yu-Gi-Oh! WCS 2024. The road to this prestigious title will be grueling, but the reward of being crowned World Champion is beyond measure.

Those scheduled WCQ dates and venues are:

• Central America WCQ: 21-23 June in Mexico City, Mexico
• Oceania WCQ: 28-30 June in Auckland, New Zealand
• South America WCQ 28-30 June in Lima, Peru
• North America WCQ: 19-21 July in Austin, Texas (USA)
• Europe WCQ: 26-28 July in Berlin, Germany
