The 126-card booster/collector’s set launches September 4, 2026 and introduces ultra-rare Grand Master Rares
Konami has revealed Magnificent Monsters, a new upcoming product for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME that celebrates the legacy of the anime with reimagined versions of iconic cards from all six series. The set will hit shelves everywhere on Thursday, September 4, 2026, with an MSRP of $34.99 per box.
For collectors and competitive duelists alike, Magnificent Monsters looks like one of the biggest Yu-Gi-Oh! booster-style releases of 2026. It combines nostalgic anime references, premium rarities, and a packed selection of reprints and new cards.
A New Set Built Around Anime Legacy
At the heart of Magnificent Monsters are 18 brand-new “reimagined” cards inspired by heroes from Yugi to Playmaker. Each of these cards will be available as standard Ultra Rares, with extended art versions also appearing in Ultra Rare and Starlight Rare rarities.
The featured cards cover a wide span of Yu-Gi-Oh! history, including fan-favorite monsters and spell/trap-inspired revamps tied to the original anime, GX, 5D’s, ZEXAL, ARC-V, and VRAINS. That makes the set a strong nostalgia play for longtime fans while still offering fresh builds and collectible appeal.
Grand Master Rares Add a New Premium Chase
One of the biggest highlights in Magnificent Monsters is the introduction of Grand Master Rares, a brand-new ultra-premium rarity with hieroglyphic borders. Only 100 copies of each of the 18 reimagined cards will be printed in this format, making them extremely rare collectibles.
According to Konami, Grand Master Rares will be serial-numbered from 001 through 100, with separate allocations for the Americas and for markets distributed from Europe. They will also appear in English, even when found in non-English language packs.
That kind of scarcity is likely to make Grand Master Rares some of the most sought-after Yu-Gi-Oh! cards of the year.
What Else Is in the Set?
Beyond the reimagined anime cards, Magnificent Monsters includes a wide mix of new, variant, and reprint content. The full 126-card set is designed to give players plenty of pulls across multiple rarity tiers.
Key contents include:
- 18 brand-new reimagined anime cards
- 20 additional new or variant art cards
- 6 brand-new boss monsters
- 40 foil upgrades
- 40 highly sought-after reprints
Among the notable additions are new anime cards like Orichalcos Sword of Sealing and Rainbow Bridge Bifrost, plus variant art versions of popular cards such as I:P Masquerena and S:P Little Knight. There is also a new card featuring both of them together, W:P Fancy Ball.
New Boss Monsters and Foil Upgrades
Konami is also adding six new boss monsters, one for each Special Summoning type. These include fresh versions of popular monsters tied to Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum, Ritual, and Link-style play.
The set also includes 40 cards receiving their first-ever foil treatment. That list stretches from newer themes like “Radiant Typhoon,” “Artmage,” “DoomZ,” and “GMX” to older favorites such as Toon Cyber Dragon and Sixth Sense.
For players and collectors who enjoy shiny upgrades and deck-building options, this makes Magnificent Monsters a particularly dense set.
Box Contents and Packing Structure
Each box of Magnificent Monsters follows a special slot-based structure similar to Magnificent Mavens. Konami says the format is designed to make it easier for players to find the set’s standout cards without having to dig through a more randomized spread.
