Info on the Upcoming North American Yu-Gi-Oh! Day!

Yu-Gi-Oh! DayYu-Gi-Oh! Day is a day for all to celebrate Yu-Gi-Oh!, create excitement for the brand at Official Tournament Stores (OTS), and to further distinguish the OTS locations from non-OTS. Yu-Gi-Oh! Day is held simultaneously throughout North America and is scheduled to occur on either Saturday, January 30th or Sunday, January 31st, 2016.

Duelists will be able to participate in a Sanctioned tournament at all participating Official Tournament Stores, with exclusive prizes only available there. Only official Konami OTS are permitted to host a Yu-Gi-Oh! Day event. The registration fee for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Day is $5.00 USD in the United States ($5.00 CND in Canada). All players entering the Yu-Gi-Oh! Day event will receive this amount in commensurate prizing.

Where and when are the Yu-Gi-Oh! Day events?
The Yu-Gi-Oh! Days will be held on either Saturday, January 30th, 2016, or Sunday, January 31st, 2016 at select locations throughout North America. A list of locations and dates for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Day event can be found online at http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/ygoday/.

What are the prizes for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Day tournament?
In addition to the product each Duelist receives upon entering the tournament, prize distribution will be as follows:

  • First place winner, after the conclusion of the last round of Swiss, will receive an exclusive Yu-Gi-Oh! Day full size Game Mat.
  • TKN4_EN027 Yu-Gi-Oh! Token CardTop 8 Duelists, after the conclusion of the last round of Swiss, will each receive an exclusive Yu-Gi-Oh! Day Super Rare Token Card.
  • At the OTS’s discretion, the above prizes may be supplemented with additional Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG product or accessories.

How long will the Yu-Gi-Oh! Day tournament last?
The number of Swiss rounds is determined by the number of Duelists enrolled in the tournament. Rounds in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME are 40 minutes long. Since you can play all rounds in a Swiss tournament, you should expect to be at the event for several hours.

If I’ve never been to a Yu-Gi-Oh! Day tournament, what should I expect?
Yu-Gi-Oh! Days are Tier 1 tournaments, and attract both casual and competitive Duelists who wish to celebrate the Yu-Gi-Oh! brand.

There are a lot of things you should do to make sure you are prepared before heading to the tournament.

Read over the list of things you will need for the tournament, and make sure you have everything.

You’ll have a better time at the event if you don’t have too many bulky or heavy possessions to carry around, as it can get crowded there on the floor.  Think ahead while you are planning what to bring with you.

YCS Atlanta Includes Dragon Duel Tournament for Younger Players

El Segundo, Calif. (January 14, 2016) – Since the last North American Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (YCS) in November 2015, hundreds of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) Duelists have been waiting and preparing for the next chance to show off their skills and strategies and compete with their peers. On February 6 and 7, their wait will be over as Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) presents YCS Atlanta, the first North American premier-level event of 2016 at the Georgia International Convention Center.

YCSW EN008 UR - Ultra Rare version of the Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn prize cardYCS Atlanta gives veteran Duelists and those just getting into the game a chance to compete for a variety of exciting prizes. The first place winner will receive an Ultra Rare version of the latest, most sought-after prize card: Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn – one of the rarest Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG cards in existence!

The Georgia International Convention Center will host hundreds of hopeful Duelists during the weekend, each one confident that they have the right mix of cards and strategy to win round after round and advance to Sunday’s Final Round and the opportunity to Duel for the title of YCS Champion.

Pre-registration for YCS Atlanta will run from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5 and registration will continue promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6.  Upon registering, Duelists will receive five Breakers of Shadow booster packs for participating in KONAMI’s YCS Atlanta.  Round One will start at 10:00 a.m. and the top ranked YCS finishers will earn invitations to participate in the 2016 World Championship Qualifier. Players will use their constructed Decks all the way to the Championship.
