Konami Announces Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Returns/25th Anniversary Celebrations

For the first time since 2019, Konami is hosting the official return of the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship in August 2023 in Japan! The World Championship 2023 event will feature separate tournaments for the TCG, Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS mobile game and, for the first time since its release, a dedicated bracket for Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL!

The Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship’s resurgence comes alongside Konami’s massive 25^th Anniversary celebration of all things Yu-Gi-Oh! While the TCG will celebrate its 25^th anniversary officially on Feb. 4, 2024, Konami is beginning its anniversary project in 2023 with the release of commemorative products and a variety of other promotions worldwide.

Special trailer released for the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game 25^th anniversary project 

LOS ANGELES – February 2, 2023 – Konami Digital Entertainment Inc., (KONAMI) is delighted to announce its plans to hold the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2023, the prestigious international tournament to determine the world’s Top Duelists in three categories.

Following the global events of recent years, it will mark the first time the tournament is due to be held since 2019. KONAMI currently plans to hold the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2023 this August in Japan.

KONAMI is planning the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2023 to feature three separate tournaments for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG), Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS, and for the first time since the game’s launch, Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL!

Information regarding the qualifying rounds for Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship will be announced through the official Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG and digital games’ websites and social media channels and through in-game notifications.
