Yu-Gi-Oh! Online for the PC

Konami is planning to take its card-battling Yu-Gi-Oh! series online worldwide next spring, the publisher revealed this week, giving fans of the firm’s multimedia property the chance to take one another on and swap cards over the Internet.yugioh_online_pc_cdrom

Yu-Gi-Oh! Online for the PC aims to recreate the one-on-one card battling on the net, featuring single play, match, auto duel and even spectating options, with online chat and card trading facilities also part of the plan.

The game will launch simultaneously in Europe, the US and Japan in spring 2005. The process of testing it will begin this December 18th, when Konami starts distributing test versions via magazine inserts.

Sadly, if you’re in the UK you may have to wait until spring rolls around. Konami is planning to launch the first test discs with the December 18th issue of V Jump in Japan, before bringing it to the US and Germany in January through Shonen Jump and Banzai magazines respectively, with a release on the cover of Swedish Shonen Jump set for February, but there’s no word on a UK source just yet.
